Chicago Public Radio
2004 Annual Report
How does one describe the public radio experience without sound? Through the voices of its donors and listeners. For the 2004 annual report, we used experiences and storytelling as both a segue to content and a vehicle for organization. The design really concentrates on experience as it is the listening experience that is the common thread between Chicago Public Radio's supporters. The photography lent insight into donors' typical listening environments. A show transcript was embossed and debossed on the cover as a way to capture immediate attention and create intrigue; the transcript hierarchy was suppressed for the interior by printing it in a tinted varnish appearing more as an undercurrent. Faust provided concept, design, art direction, and print management.
