Faust

Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago / Fulfilling the Promise Campaign Materials

Faust was hired by the MCA to create a piece of fundraising collateral that would primarily be used as a presentation tool to solicit funds from major donors. While the collateral had to fit in with their long-established and well-identified graphic standards, it had to resonate with an audience all too familiar with the MCA's graphic approach. We chose to distinguish this piece through form creating a unique fold-out inspired by the architecture of the building. The form controlled delivery of content, pacing and, thus, impact. The content we were given was in the form of a case statement—compellingly written, but too lengthy as a presentation tool. Faust worked with the MCA to rearrange the content organization from departmental to topical, using gerunds as a device for parallelism. Faust provided concept, design, copywriting, photo editing, production and print management.
