Urban Gateways / Catalog of Programs + Touring Brochure 2011-2012

Urban Gateways: Center for Arts Education is a nonprofit organization that provides multicultural performing, visual and literary arts programs for children, teachers and parents in the Chicago metropolitan area ... and also one of our first clients. Every year, Urban Gateways produces a catalog featuring programming designed to help this audience connect the art experience with their lives, neighborhoods and classroom subject matter. For more than a decade, Faust has collaborated with Urban Gateways to create catalogs that match the experience of their catalogs with the experience of their programming.

This year we were faced with the challenge of creating a new format that paired the organization's general information and highlights with it's annual touring information which resulted in a beautiful modular system. The new system allowed the pieces to fold into one another, making them easy to distribute/mail together or separately. The catalogs appropriately exemplify the professionalism of the organization, the depth and excitement of the programming and the joy users experience. Coupled with these goals are functionality, legibility and cohesiveness with all other communication collateral on which we do work for them. Faust provided concept, design, art direction, production and print management.
