Pillars Community Services / "Smack'd" Public Education Campaign

Pillars Community Services provides quality, comprehensive, community-based social services for more than 10,000 individuals and families facing challenges and crisis including domestic violence. After learning about the totality of domestic violence as well as how its stigma literally silences the victim, Faust created the "Smack'd" campaign to start a public conversation as well as provide direct access to help.  A repetitive mantra held together by the word "Smack'd" and a oversized handprint literally and visually confronts the viewer and forces engagement with the problem head on. Oversized posters were hand silkscreened to bring an even more visceral quality to the experience. Other collateral includes an informational pamphlet flyers, handcards and a presentation used to inform community organizations including local school groups, chambers of commerce, hospitals and service clubs. Faust provided concept, design, art direction, production and print management.
