The School of the Art Institute of Chicago / THICK MFA Program Direct Mail

Inspired by “immersion”-based study, the THICK master's program was being launched at SAIC as an addition to their traditional studio-based learning through deeper seminar-based learning in the disciplines of architecture, interior architecture and designed objects. Faust was asked to envision a communication tool that both explained the new offering while also expressing its unique perspective. The solution drew from the programs emphasis on deeper understanding by communicating its message through a multi-sensory experience realized through a double-sided, ultra heavy blotter paper poster whose surface was manipulated by an oversized emboss/deboss of custom letterforms. Faust provided concept, design, production and print management.
