Maison Boulud
Restaurant Identity and Menu System
Faust was retained by Zeitgeist Projects Ltd. to create an identity and menu system for Maison Boulud a Pekin, award-winning star chef and restauranteur Daniel Boulud's newest venture in Beijing. With dramatic interiors designed by Gilles et Boissier, and situated in a historic location featuring Western colonial architecture, the design for the identity and menus needed to be complementary: refined, distinctive, elegant, and modern. Faust created an logo inspired by a French nostalgic visual language and paired it with materials and imagery that would contextualize it in a modern way. The menu designs were informed by the interiors using materials, imagery, and color schemes which would add another element of refinement to the dining experience. Faust provided concept, design, production, and print and fabrication management relating to the restaurant identity and print collateral, and menu system.
