The Peninsula Hotel Chicago
Hotel Menu System
Prior to their 2001 grand opening, The Peninsula Hotel Chicago retained Faust to design restaurant collateral for the four dining establishments located within their five-star hotel: Shanghai Terrace, Avenues, Pierrot Gourmet and The Bar. The visual concept of each outlet was customized to each environment relying on the interior design of each for inspiration. Because Peninsula establishments are a higher-than-average price point, the menus had to visually validate the luxury and affirm that guests were entering an extraordinary place. The collective menu systems are complementary simply from the standpoint of attention to detail not characteristic of typical restaurant establishments. Use of tactile materials such as leather, linen, steel and bamboo were employed. Faust provided concept, design, production, and print and fabrication management.
Printing/fabrication: Unique Printers.
