Performance Animations (The Seldoms: The Making), 2017

Series of mapped animations for The Seldoms: The Making
Edit and projection by Liviu Pasare

This site-specific installation within the historic library space of Chicago’s Pulaski Park Field house, uses the audience as containment devices for solos and duets that deliver hyper-human, personal stories so intimately close you can feel the wind off the dancers movements. To further contain and to add more context the highly ornamented barrel vaulted ceiling of the space was completely mapped to receive images and animated text excerpts, choreographed with the dancers movement. Choreography & Direction by Carrie Hanson; Performance & movement development by The Ensemble: Philip Elson, Sarah Gonsiorowski, Christina Gonzalez-Gillett, Damon Green, Matthew McMunn, Cara Sabin, Hannah Santistevan; Installation/Design: Fraser Taylor (section I), Bob Faust (hallway and section II), Faheem Majeed (section III); Projection by Liviu Pasare; Sound Design & Composition by Mikhail Fiksel; Performance & Composition by Chihsuan Yang; Lighting Design & Technical Direction by Julie Ballard; Costumes by Melissa Leandro and Damon Green.
