This Way to the Nonfiction Section was developed as an answer to its site and medium. From the lounge, it is viewed as a nearly 300’+ billboard, but with its medium as a jet bridge, it is an immersive portal-like experience. The title is both concept and artwork and used to convey the “IRL” experience that only travel can deliver, especially when that travel is to a specific and planned passion or experience. To deepen the connection to the title and the medium, a single photo is manipulated into patterns that are reminiscent of end papers found in vintage books or the elaborate spines that line a library shelf. Upon closer inspection, these patterns slowly reveal their source image as an United plane.
